We interviewed Yael Cohen, Founder of F*** Cancer, a non-profit that is building awareness for preventative measures and a platform to really talk about cancer. When her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009, Yael decided to create a t-shirt that she was sure her mom would never wear, that said "F*** Cancer." Her mom wore it and the positive feedback they both got was astounding. They knew that this was bigger than just a t-shirt and the non-profit organization was born. Yael has given talks all around the globe about what her organization is doing to change the way people talk about cancer and to those people that have cancer. In our call, Yael spoke about her entrepreneurial journey as well as her controversial branding.

We interviewed Caroline Cummings, VP of Marketing at Palo Alto Software. As the former co-founder and CEO of two technology companies, she’s experienced both start-up failures and successes, and has raised close to $1 million in investment capital. Her first venture, OsoEco.com (healthy social shopping), dissolved in 2009. Her second venture, RealLead (mobile marketing for real estate) sold in early 2012. She has co-founded several successful entrepreneurial programs for the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce, including Smart-ups Pub Talks and the Southern Willamette Angel Network.

We had the opportunity to interview Fran Maier, the Founder and Chair of the Board of TRUSTe. Since 1994, Fran has focused on building online brands and enhancing consumer trust online. As a co-founder and general manager of Match.com, Fran established credibility, safety, and trust in online dating, making Match.com the leading online dating service. In executive marketing roles at Women.com and Kmart's BlueLight.com subsidiary, Fran both established online start-up brands and brought blue-chip offline brands onto the Internet. Earlier in her career, she held brand management roles at the Clorox Company and California's Automobile Association. In addition to her expertise in online privacy, she is also known for her expertise in brand building, online marketing, and marketing to women.
We will interviewed Amanda Eilian, the co-founder and president of Videolicious. Backed by Amazon, Videolicious is the leading provider of ultra-fast, automatic, and super-easy video creation solutions with over 800,000 users in over 100 countries, including many Fortune 500 companies. Prior to co-founding Videolicious, Amanda was a founding partner of Capitol Acquisition Corporation, a special purpose acquisition vehicle (SPAC) that completed a $265 million initial public offering in 2007 and closed a merger in 2009 that led to the formation of Two Harbors Investment Corp., a NYSE listed REIT (TWO). Amanda previously worked at Falconhead Capital and in mergers and acquisitions at Merrill Lynch. Amanda is a Truman Scholar and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown University and received her MBA from Harvard Business School, where she was a Baker Scholar.

We chatted with Alli Webb, the founder of Drybar about how she turned a woman's daily routine into a multi-million dollar business. Alli developed her talents as a professional hair stylist in NYC. Trained as a chemist, Rebecca Boudreaux, Ph.D. is an entrepreneurial, technology executive with a unique blend of technical skills and business development expertise. She has served on the management team or Board of Directors of various startup companies in the clean tech, life sciences, high tech, and non-profit sectors. Presently, she is the President of Oberon Fuels, a San Diego-based company making a cleaner, alternative to diesel. Dr. Boudreaux has a broad range of academic and industrial experience, having performed research at MIT, Princeton University, University of Southern Mississippi, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and National Starch and Chemical.
Patti is the co-founder of Flutter Eyewear and is also co-founder of a consulting firm for Triage Consulting Group, which is perennially named to the list of best companies to work for in America. Rather than making business decisions based upon what’s best for the bottom line, Patti considers, first, what decision will have the greatest impact for good. With her husband, two daughters and assortment of pets, Patti lives in San Francisco.
Amanda de Cadenet is a renowned fashion and portrait photographer, television producer and host. She began her career at the age of fourteen as the fearless host of two of the UK's most successful television shows. She became one of that nation's best known personalities, lauded for her natural talent and ease in front of the camera. Her passion for storytelling took her behind the camera more than a decade ago when Amanda made the transition to the respected photographer she is today. In that role, she is the youngest woman to shoot a Vogue magazine cover and has photographed many of the most influential figures in popular culture. She is best known for her intimate portraits of women, capturing their true and unique selves and her previous tv show now interactive web series, The Conversation.
We had the pleasure of chatting with Latina media dynamo and women’s empowerment advocate Nely Galán, dubbed the “Tropical Tycoon” by The New York Times Magazine. A first generation immigrant and self-made media mogul, Galán was the first Latina president of a U.S. television network (Telemundo). She is an Emmy Award-winning producer of over 700 episodes of television in Spanish and English, including the FOX hit reality series “The Swan” and is the first Latina to appear on “Celebrity Apprentice with Donald Trump” on NBC. Nely is a successful media and real estate entrepreneur as well as an inspirational speaker and is a passionate advocate for the empowerment of Latinas everywhere. She recently launched The Adelante Movement in order to help support Latina Entrepreneurs.
