We've recently teamed up with Roxanne Rapske, The Franchise Genie, in order to give you all of the up and ups regarding the Franchise Industry. Here's what Roxanne has to say about the 5 top franchise industries that continue to grow.

The rates of
franchise ownership continue to rise as more and more individuals give up on the job market, seek to finally work for themselves or decide to pursue their passions, rather than just a paycheck. If you are considering franchise ownership, choosing a specific franchise is the most important decision you’ll have to make. It can also be the toughest, especially in a down economy. Below is a list of five top franchise industries where franchise ownership continues to flourish:

• Business Coaching - Many individuals start their own business out of a passion or based on experience in a specific industry. This doesn’t mean they necessarily understand how to organize their business, develop a strong sales funnel, put together effective marketing campaigns and handle invoicing and collections. If you know how to successfully operate a business, you can share your knowledge and spread the success by investing in a business coaching franchise. Business coaching is an especially appealing franchise because you can work out of your home, significantly lowering your potential investment.

• Education Tutoring
- A college education is now almost considered a necessity when it comes to getting a good job. At least this is what many parents believe, and they’re willing to shell out money to make sure their children don’t fall behind at any grade. There are several different tutoring franchises to choose from. In most cases, you would not be the tutor, but would manage tutors and scheduling as well as business promotion. A tutoring franchise is a feel-good business that allows you to have a positive impact on the community.

• Employment Services
- The economy is (slowly) on the rise, but many businesses are still skittish about hiring full-time workers. Instead, they are showing a strong preference for temporary workers. Running an employment service takes a lot of grit and initiative. You’ll need to pick up the phone and try to bring in business, but you can also take pride in the fact that you are helping people in your community find work and put food on the table for their families.

• Fitness - You’ve probably heard the stats that over 60 percent of the U.S. population is overweight and over a third qualify as obese. Now, more than ever, individuals need to begin incorporating exercise into their daily routine. If you are passionate about health and fitness, consider investing in one of the many gym franchises that are available. Be warned, it’s not cheap. You’ll need to find a building in a high traffic location that’s large enough to comfortably fit all the equipment the gym will need to attract customers. Depending on the type of franchise, you may also need to hire trainers and class instructors.

• Frozen Yogurt - Yes, frozen yogurt is back and yummier than ever. After exploding and then waning in popularity, many of the more popular frozen yogurt franchises are focusing on healthy toppings and self-serve bars with plenty of flavor choices. If you do decide to look into a frozen yogurt franchise get ready to work late nights and weekends if you’ll be behind the counter. You may also consider hiring staff to work for you, but that will increase your overhead. You’ll also want to be aware of the local competition to make sure there are enough potential customers to keep your frozen yogurt franchise growing.

This is only a short list, and there are plenty more

top franchise industries that are booming. For more information about any of the specific franchises I recommend within the industries in this list, or for industries not mentioned here, give me, The Franchise Genie, a call at (877) 372-6480 or visit
