Resolutions Are Sabotage in Disguise

Thought Leader Blog Post

This year I am going to lose weight.

This year I am going to start my own business.

This year I am going to learn how to speak Italian.

This year I am going to go to the gym.

This year I am . . .

And the list goes on and on and on!

How many times have you heard it? How many times have you said it?

Millions and millions of people will make New Year’s resolutions this year. And 99.9% of them will either fail or just stop doing what the vowed to do by the end of January. That’s right most will not even make through the month!

The reason most people fail is because they have not gone through the internal process first. They have not looked inside themselves to see what is really holding them back. And if you do not look inside, you are sabotaging yourself.

Resolutions are sabotage in disguise!

The Shocking Results – Don’t Be Next!

Thought Leader Blog Post

Even though it was two years ago, I can still remember the conversation like it was yesterday.

My friend, Janet, called me in hysterics the night of her company holiday party. Earlier that evening she was mingling with many co-workers. As the night went on, she found herself deep in a conversation with one of her male co-workers. And before she knew it, she was being hit on harder than a hammer to a nail.

And not only did this “prince charming” know she was married, he was married as well!

Well, over the next year, the situation got so bad that she eventually left the company.

Because of the obvious anguish Janet was in and how astonishing this was to me, I needed to find out more.

So I surveyed the WMO community to see just how common this occurs in the workplace.

Well, my friends – it is not just prevalent, it is a freakin’ epidemic!

I could not believe my eyes when I saw that 81% of the Working Moms Only community had been hit on by a co-worker at a company holiday party.

You heard me right – 81%!

And the hits keep on coming . . .

I have always adopted the philosophy that knowledge is power. If you do not know that a problem exists – you cannot solve it.

So, I am publishing the results in their entirety:

Stop Networking and Start Making Money

Thought Leader Blog

It’s a self-marketing tactic I’ve really come to hate…

I’m talking about “networking.” Sure, I’ve been hearing all about networking for years. I’ve even used the word myself!

But when you get down to it, networking is cold, sterile… and it seems self-serving: one person trying to form a web of contacts whose sole purpose is to do something for him.

That’s not how I want to do business.

Lately, I’ve been rethinking what “networking” means. For instance, when I meet people at a so-called “networking” event, what is my end-game?

You know what? My ultimate goal is not to network with them… It’s not to find out what they can do for me… It’s not to add them to my address book until I need something from them…

It’s to connect with them!
